M I MIA?

Have you seen me?  I'm missing, and I can't be found.  Apparently, people have seen me in shadows, or rather, they suspect that I'm around—footprints keep appearing on the car, the cat food keeps getting eaten, and there was that dead bird in the backyard that supposedly I killed. Was that me?

Well, I got news for y'all back home.  I'm free!  That summer (last year) at Camp Hiroki (the Stein's farm) helped me shake off my domesticated fur and grow a wild coat.  That's right, I'm an alley cat now, hangin' with the big kitties.  It's a cat–eat–cat adventure, and I no longer depend on people to feed me—I feed myself, with small rodents.

It hasn't been easy.  The other day I saw an open door, and was really tempted to go inside and meow until I was petted.  But I resisted!  Yes sir, in fact I walked right up to the step, licked myself clean, then strutted off to reclaim my independence.

So, I logged in at the local Feline Library, and I just wanted to send a message to all you people who took care of me for so long—you know who you are.  I miss you all!  Maybe one day I'll come by and leave my "mark", just to keep you on the lookout.

Wild and free, I am Hiroki.

Well, Hiroki, I'm glad to read that you are doing well. We have missed you around the house, but in all actuality, we would probably pay more attention to Lucia. I know you understand.

Have fun with the alley cats!

Hiroki, I know you're out there. Listen, I've been putting cat food by the back door and I really believe you're eating it. Could you leave a note or something to confirm my beliefs?
