I believe the egg is associated with Easter because, as Jesus' resurrection is new life, the egg also brings new life in the spring. The same goes for the bunnies with their abundant reproduction, bringing forth new rabbits all the time.

I hope that one day Steins become associated with Easter, because they keep bringing forth "little Steins" all the time...!
