A Gaggle of Google Goggles: We're Moving Home!

1Yup, Heather, Lucia and I have decided to move to Odessa, my hometown, in Missouri.  That should explain the ad to the left of this blog!

It seems like only 8 months ago we moved to Georgia — wait, it was only 8 months.  Well, we are a young family and need the support of extended family to help keep ours healthy. It was a great, albeit short, adventure, and now we move "always forward2" to Odessa, enjoying small town life, being active in our parish, living on the farm for awhile, and watching our parents goggle at Lucia as she grows up.

3It has been 10 years now since I've lived in Odessa.  After high school, I moved east to Columbia for college at Mizzou, then east again to St. Louis for a job4 in the archdiocese, and finally very much east to Atlanta for a job with Mission Network5.  All that time, I've had the longing to return, not to Odessa so much, but to be closer to family.  My youth was spent far away from extended family, and I really missed out on my grandparents' and cousins' lives.  This move will set Lucia up for a gaggle of experiences and memories, as well as whoever else gets added to our family!

Now we're working like crazy to sell our townhome.  Through Google, we found a host of free online real estate listing sites, and I listed on about 10 of 'em.  My favorites are Craigslist6 and Postlets7.  I even made this nice little Flickr gallery8 to show more photos.  I hope somebody bites!

Thankfully, I get to keep my job and work remotely on all these websites9.  We expect to be home by Thanksgiving!  Pray for us!  St. Joseph, buried deep in our front garden, pray for us!

Hmm, I would normally delete the previous comment as spam, but since it's relevant, you get to stay on! Here's the ad.

Wow, this is big news. Congratulations on the move, and getting to keep the job. Being close to family is definitely important for growing families. My prayers are with you. Best of luck with the new CD too.

Thanks, Dan! I appreciate the encouragement. We have certainly realized that with our style of parenting, extended family closeness is vitally important. These days, it seems like everyone I know travels and moves far from family, but once they have kids, they all seem to realize the same thing! :)

And yes, to those who have commented to me in person about that jacket, it's a Kansas City Royals jacket, probably from the 80's. But I love it!
